Chester Cudly is a labradoodle and a Certified Pet Therapy Dog through Domesti-Pups. He was born March 31, 2019, and is now a large fluff ball.

Pet Therapy is a broad term that includes animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and other animal-assisted activities (AAA). As of now, Chester is primarily AAA but we are working on incorporating AAT into our practice. You can learn a little more about pet therapy here.

Chester believes in brightening everyone’s day with the wag of his tail and beginning the relaxation process before even entering the treatment room. He is in office most days. Pet Therapy is shown to boost parasympathetic nervous activity - the "rest and digest" reaction - so Chester's main job right now is to get this process started immediately when you arrive, giving you an even more productive massage session.

IASTM

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is the use of specific tools to address fascial restrictions, soft tissue fibrosis, and chronic inflammation, to reduce pain and increase range of motion.

Briana use surgical steel instruments and starts by lightly running them over the body area to find areas of adhesion and then use the tools to address the problem.

Lymphatic Drainage

Briana is a Certified Lymphatic Drainage 1 Therapist through The Chickly Institute.

Lymphatic Drainage (LD) is a gentle, noninvasive modality designed to assist lymph flow. Lymph vessels are found throughout the body, but 70% of the vessels are located just below the skin. By using light, rhythmic, and targeted massage techniques, practitioners assist the body in clearing sluggish tissue of waste and swelling.

Because of the function of the lymphatic system, LD can benefit just about everyone. If you're feeling tired and low on energy, or if you've been sick or under the weather and feeling like your body is fighting to get back on track, LD is for you. If you have chronic or acute swelling, LD is for you. If you have an immune deficiency or autoimmune disease, LD is for you. In addition, athletes, surgical patients, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue sufferers, as well as acne and other skin issue sufferers, LD is for you.

Cupping

Cupping is the use of negative pressure to increase blood flow and focus on fascial movement. Briana uses silicone cups and moves them in similar fashion to massage as well as leaves them on specific points. This is a great alternative to traditional deep (inward) pressure.

Ashiatsu

Charissa is a Certified DeepFeet Bar Therapist.

Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, consistent pressure while utilizing their feet and body weight; working with gravity instead of against it. Ashiatsu therapists are able to provide an effective therapeutic massage without causing pain or discomfort to themselves or the receiving client. Cream or oil is applied to the clients body making this deep therapeutic massage fluid and relaxing. Parallel bars are used above the massage table for balance, support and client safety.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in athletics. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries. A combination of massage techniques and stretching are incorporated. Clients are asked to arrive to the appointment in comfortable athletic clothing.

Sports Massage is broken down into

Pre-event: Performed up to 30 min - 24 hours before competition. A light, invigorating session designed to prepare your body and mind for your event.

Inter-event: Performed between competitions on the same day and lasts about 10 minutes, concentrating on main muscles stressed during activity. Inter-event massage improves muscle recovery between repeated bouts of strenuous activity.

Post-event: Performed within 48 hours after competition lasting 15-90 minutes. This session focuses on restoring the body to its pre-event condition by reducing recovery time, treating injuries and relaxing muscles.

Maintenance: 30-90 minute weekly or bi-monthly sessions designed to reduce recovery time between intense workouts, decrease muscle tightness, release holding patterns and reduce the potential for injury.

Add on as Spot treatment, or available stand alone as 60 or 90 min

Hot Stone

Hot stone massage is a type of massage that involves the use of smooth, heated stones that are placed on the body and used as tools in the during the massage. The penetrating heat and weight of the stones warm and relax tense muscles so the therapist can work deeper, more quickly.  Basalt or Himalayn Salt stones are used. Hot stones are placed on specific points, varying depending on areas of muscle tension and the client's health history.

Hot stone massage is a deeply relaxing, yet deep massage. Along with the benefits of a general massage, this massage quickly increases circulation, relaxes muscles, and increases range of motion.

Full body treatments are not available at this time because of my COVID-19 protocols, but spot treatments are used in integrative sessions and by request.
